At SKSG Preschool, we offer a unique bilingual preschool programme for children between 3 to 4 years old. This programme, consisting of 50% Dutch and 50% English, is developed in collaboration with the international division of the GSV (Groningse Schoolvereniging). The preschool is managed by teachers from GSV and SKSG, and provides an ideal mix of education and day care.

We created a safe, stimulating environment in which children are supported, and challenged to try new things. Our pre-school is an inclusive environment that promotes each childs social-emotional, cognitive and physical development. Your child will feel loved and respected here. This is how children are encouraged to develop to their fullest potential.

Bilingual Education

We are thrilled to introduce our collaborative bilingual program, offering an equal blend of Dutch and English. Partnering with The International Primary School Haren (GSV), SKSG has crafted a fun and imaginative educational program for children aged 3-4, which is unique in Groningen. This approach enhances communication skills, prepares your child for a global future, and fosters cultural appreciation and cognitive development.

Developing skills for school

Our objective is to provide a curriculum (EYFS Curriculum) which enables each child to develop new skills at their own level in order to prepare the children for success in a safe, happy and healthy environment. Our curriculum focuses on Literacy, Numeracy, Music, Physical Education and Social-Emotional development, providing a variety of activities that are fun, hands-on, creative and stimulating.

About our Teachers

Children at SKSG Preschool are welcomed by two exceptional teachers: Ms. Poulsen and Ms. Marieke. Both are well-loved by all children and wholeheartedly motivated to inspire and develop the potential in each child.

Originally from Canada, Ms. Poulsen has over 25 years of teaching experience in various countries. She has been teaching preschool in the Netherlands for the past 14 years.

Ms. Marieke is a dedicated teacher from the Netherlands, and has been with SKSG for over 15 years, contributing passionately to the preschool program for the past 7 years.

The environment

Our inclusive learning community welcomes children from diverse nationalities, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Our warm, family-oriented environment makes it easy for children to feel at home, build friendships, and fully enjoy their days. In this close-knit setting, children settle in quickly, developing confidence as they grow, learn, and have fun. With our large outdoor play area, children have the perfect space to discover, play, and spark their imaginations.

Your child will be guided by a dedicated, permanent teacher and a caring pedagogical assistant – both skilled professionals who are passionate about nurturing every child’s potential. We value open communication with all our parents and keep you informed at daily pick-up times and through our easy-to-use app – so you can feel confident and connected to your child’s journey.

For cancelling before the agreed end date, please send a written cancellation to customer service. A notice period of one month is applicable for reducing or cancelling childcare.
